North Penn-Liberty downs Lady Hornets, 15-2.
 

The North Penn-Liberty Mounties pounded out 15 runs and held the Wellsboro Varsity Softball team to just 2 runs on Tuesday, April 5.

The Lady Mounties plated 3 runs in the 1st, 5 in the 3rd, 2 in the 5th, and then 5 more in the 7th.

Wellsboro's two runs came in bottom of the 5th as senior Abbye Cavanaugh and freshman Paige Logsdon hit back-to-back singles then were brought home on a double by junior Rylie Boyce.

Boyce and freshman Alexandra Urena saw time in the circle for Wellsboro, combining to allow 15 runs on 12 hits with 3 strikeouts.

The loss drops Wellsboro to 1-3 (0-3 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on the road at Athens on Friday, April 8.
