NEB tops Wyalusing to go undefeated.

2012 Northeast Bradford vs. Wyalusing SoftballNortheast Bradford had four home runs as they defeated Wyalusing 8-0 to end the regular season undefeated.

"That wasn't necessarily one of our goals," Panther coach Gary Hennip said. "It was nice to have that happen. You never go into a season thinking you can go undefeated but our kids have played very well. We've won two close ball games and have had some good competition. It's been a great season so far."

Calla Martin, Haylie Phillips, Nicki Emick and Aubri Mosier all hit home runs for Northeast while Kelsey Carlsen and Maddy Johnson both went 2-for-3.

MaKaylah Holbert added a double while Monica Brown also had a hit.

Emick added 3-RBI while Martin knocked in two runs with Phillips and Carlsen garnering one RBI each.

Phillips scored twice while Holbert, Carlsen and Johnson also scored.

Chelsie Souto one hit Wyalusing from the circle, striking out eight while allowing one walk.

Emily Faulkner had the lone Ram hit.

She scored the loss, striking out five while allowing one walk.

Towanda 15, Sayre 2, 5 innings

WYSOX - Koryn Wickwire went 2-for-3 with a home run, triple, 3-RBI and three runs scored to lead the Black Knights to an NTL East softball win Friday.

Morgan Dreisch, Laci Manning, Carley Chaffee, Michelle Aronson, Emily Gorman and Dallas Mosier also had hits for Towanda.

Mosier had 2-RBI in the game while Manning and Dreisch also knocked in runs.

Aronson crossed home three times while Manning scored twice. Dreisch, Chaffee, Alaina Wickwire, Gorman and Jaz Calaman also scored.

Alaina Wickwire scored the win, striking out five while allowing three hits and two walks.

Maria Servedio had a double for Sayre while Kelly Villanti and Brooke Wampole also had hits. Villanti and Kristyn Tappan scored the two Redskin runs.

Tappan struck out three in the loss.

Notre Dame 6, Tioga 0

Sydney Dimon went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored to lead the Crusaders to an IAC softball win Friday to round out their regular season.

From the circle Olivia May struck out 16 for Notre Dame while allowing one walk and five hits.

Despite the loss Tioga coach Jim Wood was pleased with his team's effort.

"I think Brittany (Vergason) call her best game of the season," he said about his catcher. "This is a vast improvement over the first game. I'm really happy the way the kids played defense behind Sam (Wood) and Britt. Sam and Britt executed a good game plan and the defense executed well behind them. For them to hold one of the state's most efficient offenses to five hits, I'm really happy with that."

Alivia Clark had a double for the Crusaders while Emily Lepkowski and Detta Gublo also had hits. Lepkowski drove in two runs with Gublo also knocking in a run.

May and Becca Saggiomo also scored.

"I think Olivia was really on top of her game defensively," Wood said. "She looked fantastic, you can tell she's the defending Class C Player of the Year. She kept us off balance all night long."

Bry Godfrey went 2-for-3 to lead the Tigers while Dani Barto, Vergason and Donnette Hutchison also had hits.

Wood struck out seven in the loss while allowing one walk and four earned runs.

Tioga will face Deposit on Wednesday at Deposit as a tune up for their opening round Sectional game at Oxford on Thursday.
