Notre Dame tops Tioga; Towanda downs Canton.

2013 Towanda vs. Canton SoftballTIOGA CENTER, N.Y. - Olivia May allowed just three hits as Notre Dame kept their IAC Large South title hopes alive with a 3-0 softball win against Tioga Monday.

They remain one game behind division leading Waverly who beat Candor 22-0 Monday. The two teams still have to play each other twice.

May was also 2-for-2 with a run scored while Alivia Clark, Brooke Harvey and Monica Jerzak had hits. May, Mackenzie Maloney and Jerzak scored the three runs.

Harvey had 2-RBI with Maloney knocking in a run Monday.

May had 15 strikeouts in the victory with one walk.

Dani Barto, Alexis VanDruff and Kate Stubbs had the three Tiger hits.

Sam Wood scores the loss, striking out six with three walks and two hit batsmen.

Tioga will host Edison Wednesday in another big IAC game.

Towanda 11, Canton 6

WYSOX - The Black Knights rallied from a 3-2 deficit to pick up an NTL cross-over softball win Monday.

After tying it 3-3 in the third Towanda used four runs in the fourth and sixth to pull away.

Koryn Wickwire went 3-for-4 with three runs and 3-RBI while Mackenzie Roof was 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI. Alaina Wickwire went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Emily Gorman and Sarah Dawsey also had hits. Gorman drove in two runs while Dawsy scored twice.

Kylie Cazassa added a run as well.

Alaina Wickwire earned the win with 11 strikeouts and one walk.

Chelsey Heatley was 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored while Kellsy Ross was 2-for-4. Kayla Ward and Emily Jennings also had hits.

Ward, Caitlin McFall and Felicia Defenderfer all scored runs.

Ross started and earns the loss while Heatley came in relief. They combined for six strikeouts and five walks.

Troy 9, Cowanesque Valley 4

The Trojans found their offense late in the game as they picked up an NTL cross-over softball win Monday.

It was tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the fourth when Troy scored three runs to take a 5-2 lead.

In the top of the fifth CV responded with two runs of their own but the Trojans extended their lead in the fifth with three more runs to take an 8-4 lead. They got one more in the sixth to secure the win.

Kelsey Bristol (2-for-4), Tiffani Mattocks (2-for-3) and Kara Schucker (2-for-3) had multiple hit games for the Trojans. Schucker and Mattocks had one RBI each while Bristol and Mattocks scored.

Faith Ceely added a triple with 2-RBI while Brooke Mattocks, Brooke Root and Kelly Bridgham also had hits.

Brooke Mattocks and Bethany Manley each scored twice while Hunsicker and Kayla Stephani also scored.

Schucker got the win, striking out four while allowing one walk.

Kayla Schauer, Shanelle Ianson, Lexi Heyler and Becky Plummer had the four Indian hits. Lexi Heyler added an RBI while Courtney Schauer, Whitney Earl, Madeline Heyler and Plummer scored the runs.

Ianson scores the loss, striking out one with three walks.

Wellsboro 11, Sayre 0

Maggie Smith struck out eight and allowed four hits as the Hornets picked up an NTL cross-over win Monday.

Jenny Young went 3-for-3 with two runs scored while Sarah Ingerick was 2-for-2 with two triples and two runs. Baylea Lehman was 2-for-4 with a triple and run scored as well.

Darci Warriner also had a hit with a run scored.

Brooke Kohler scored twice while Peyton Wilson, Jordan Butters and Smith also scored.

Rachel Hurley went 2-for-2 to lead the Redskins while Kelly Villanti and Kirstyn Tappan also had hits.

Kristyn Tappan scores the loss for Sayre.

Northeast Bradford 10, Williamson 0, 5 innings

The Panthers scored six runs in the first inning en route to their NTL cross-over win Monday.

Courtney Coleman was 2-for-3 with a double and 3-RBI while Maddy Johnson, Monica Brown, Julia Williams and Angelia Laudermilch also had hits. Williams' hit was a double.

Calla Johnson scored twice with an RBI while Mackenzie Moore crossed home twice with Johnson, Danielle Moore, MaKaylah Holbert, Williams and Laudermilch scoring.

Laudermilch added two RBI as well.

Chelsie Souto scored the win, going the first three innings to allow one hit, no walks and eight strikeouts. Coleman came on in relief, striking out two.

Sierra Magnotta had a double for the Warriors while Kim Daugherty scores the loss. She struck out two with three walks.

Northeast hosts Towanda today and travels to Wellsboro Wednesday.

Waverly 22, Candor 0

The Wolverines remained undefeated as the picked up another IAC softball win Monday.

Sabrina Bowman had two home runs, 7-RBI and four runs scored to lead Waverly.

Rebecca Morgan (2-for-4), Stephanie Bellis (2-for-3) and Kiana Manuel (2-for-6) also had multiple hits in the game. Morgan added 3-RBI and a run scored, Bellis had tow runs and an RBI while Manuel's included a double, three runs and an RBI.

Megan Wilbur had a double while Shailei Kraft, Sam Mennig, Carmella Ruth and Reylyn Schartzhoff also had hits.

Wilber added three runs and 2-RBI, Kraft had three runs and 2-RBI, Mennig scored twice, Ruth scored twice with 2-RBI and Schartzhoff had two runs with an RBI.

Mennig scored the win, striking out nine while allowing two hits and no walk.

Waverly sits one game ahead of Notre Dame in the IAC Large South standings and will travel to Watkins Glen Wednesday.
