Another softball season is in the book and it's time to honor some of the area's top players.
Waverly's Sam Mennig had a strong season on the mound, and at the plate, and she is the All-Region Player of the Year.
Mennig was 13-3 with a .72 ERA and 154 strikeouts in 106 1/3 innings and at the plate she hit .400 with 16 runs and 15 RBI.
Towanda's Alaina Wickwire helped lead her team to their first District 4 Championship game and she is the pitcher of the year.
Northeast Bradford's Maddy Johnson and Notre Dame's Alivia Clark share the Silver Slugger Award for Offensive Player of the Year. Clark hit over .500 and led Notre Dame to the Section IV, Class C final, while Johnson hit .594 and scored 33 runs for the Panthers this year.
Troy freshman Kerrigan Hoffman pitched the Trojans to the NTL Division I title this year and she is the Newcomer of the Year, while Wellsboro's Brooke Kohler committed no errors this year to be named the defensive player of the year.
Brian Canfield and the Troy coaching staff led the Trojans to the NTL title and they are the coaching staff of the year.
Mennig, Wickwire, Kohler, Clark, Hoffman and Johnson are all on the first team and they are joined by Waverly's Kiana Manuel, Towanda's Koryn Wickwire and Troy's Kelsey Bristol and Faith Ceely.
Notre Dame's Mackenzie Maloney is also on the first team, along with Athens' Mackenzie Hafer; Canton's Kellsy Ross; CV's Shanelle Ianson and Tioga's Sam Wood and Britt Vergason.
Wellsboro's Sarah Ingerick; Wyalusing's Kasey and Ally DeVoir and NEB's Calla Johnson round out the first team.
The second team includes Canton's Kayla Ward; Waverly's Shailei Kraft and Megan Wilbur; CV's Courtney Schauer and NEB's Angelia Laudermilch.
Towanda's Emily Gorman; Wyalusing's Kate Epler and Emily Faulkner; Athens' Jensen Dunklin and Troy's Taylor Johnston and Kayla Stephani are also on the second team.
Rounding out the second team are Sayre's Paige Wampole; Williamson's Kendra Colegrove and Wellsboro's Alexa Singer and Jordan Butters.
The third team includes Waverly's Stephanie Bellis; Sullivan County's Torie Schultz; Sayre's Kristyn Tappan and Williamson's Sarah Bates and Sam Herrington.
Canton's Makenzy Route and Maggy Machmer; Wellsboro's Paige Carr; Wyalusing's Kyleigh Ward and Troy's Brooke Mattocks are on the third team.
Athens' Miranda Peterson; CV's Julie Brubaker; Towanda's Laciann Manning and Sam Schoonover; NEB's Monica Brown and Tioga's Dani Barto round out the third team.
Hoffman heads the rookie team and she is joined on the rookie squad by Waverly's Zoe Mennig; Tioga's Taylor Ayres and Katelyn Stubbs; Athens' Aubrey Allen; NEB's Annie Williams and Sayre's Kate Cron.
Kyleigh Ward is on the rookie team along with Liberty's Lauren Smith and Emily Strange; Williamson's Kendra Colegrove and Maddie Huyler; Notre Dame's Mackenzie Mahajan and Katie Pedalty; Canton's Lauryn Watkins and Athens' Reagan Lynch.
The gold glove winners include Kohler at second base; Ally DeVoir of Wyalusing at first; Maloney at third and Calla Johnson at shortstop. Clark is the gold glove winner on the mound and Stephani is the gold glove catcher.
The outfield is Maddy Johnson, Hafer and Mackenzie Roof of Towanda.
