WAVERLY, N.Y. - Waverly's Sam Mennig was really good on the mound Thursday afternoon.
Edison's McKenzie Slaven was even better as the Spartans picked up the 1-0 win.
Mennig limited Edison to three hits and one run, walking one and striking out eight.
However, Slaven was nearly untouchable on Thursday, striking out 13 and allowing just three hits and no walks in the game.
Kiana Manuel, Shailei Kraft and Kalie Herriman had hits for Waverly in the game.
Slaven had a double and scored the winning run as Laura Tryon followed with a double for Edison.
ATHENS - Athens got a run in the eighth inning to pick up the victory on Thursday.
Rica Dimon led off the eighth with a single and Lexi Morley hit a one-out double to win it.
Mackenzie Warner had a hit for Athens and Jensen Dunkling had three hits and scored a run.
Aubrey Allen had two doubles and scored a run for Athens and Hannah Reid had a triple, two RBI and a run scored.
Dimon had the hit, run scored and an RBI and Sarah Munn had a hit and scored a run, while Morley had a double and RBI.
Lauren Galasso pitched 2 1/3 innings for Athens, striking out two and Munn pitched 2/3 of an inning, while Dunkling pitched five innings, striking out three.
Williamson got a home run from Kendra Colegrove and Makayla Butz had a hit and two RBI, while Sarah Bates, Kendra Shaffer and Megan Wyble scored runs for Williamson.
Bates struck out three on the mound for Williamson.
Maddy Johnson had a huge day to lead the Panthers to the win.
Johnson went 3-for-4 with two home runs, nine RBI and three runs scored in the win. Johnson now has three home runs and 12 RBI in the past two games.
Shelby Park had a hit and scored two runs and Annie Williams had two hits, with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.
Dana Koontz had a hit and scored three runs and Julia Williams went 4-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles and two runs scored.
Katie Boardman had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI and Danielle Moore had a double and a run scored.
Hannah Dum had a hit and three runs scored and Megan Brown had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.
