Wellsboro wins Northeast Bradford softball tournament.

2015 Wellsboro vs. Northeast Bradford SoftballLERAYSVILLE - Wellsboro rallied to beat Northeast Bradford 5-4 in the title game of the Panther Softball Tournament Saturday.

It was Northeast striking first as Annie Williams hit a 2-run double, followed by Julia Williams hitting a 2-run home run to put the Panthers up 4-0 in the top of the first.

That lead held until the bottom of the fifth when the Hornets got two runs back.

Then in the sixth a Darci Warriner single brought home Alexa Singer to cut it to 4-3.

One batter later Sydney Tremper hit a 2-run double to put Wellsboro ahead for good.

Tremper went 2-for-2 in the game while Singer (2-for-3) also had multiple hits.

Paige CarrJordan Butters and Warriner, who was named tournament MVP, also had hits. Warriner scored twice with Butters, Singer and Kailee Clymer also scoring.

Warriner and Alyssa Yungwirth both had RBI.

Yungwirth got the win, striking out six.

For NEB Shelby Park went 2-for-2 with a run scored while Maddy Johnson, Annie Williams, Julia Williams, Danielle Moore and Megan Brown had the other hits. Brown's was a double.

Gabby Slater went the distance in the loss, striking out three.

In the opening round Wellsboro edged Tunkhannock 11-10 off a walk off 3-run home run by Sarah Ingerick in the seventh.

Jenny Young was 3-for-5 in that game with three runs while Warriner was 2-for-4 with two doubles, 2-RBI and two runs.

Yungwirth was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs, Ingerick was 2-for-5 with 3-RBI and a run scored and Singer was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored and an RBI.

Carr had a double with an RBI while Peyton Wilson and Butters also had hits. Butters and Baylea Lehman both scored a run as well.

Singer got the win with one strikeout and one walk.

Northeast Bradford beat Mt. View in their opening 8-5.

Johnson and Slater both went 3-for-5 on the day with two runs and an RBI while Hannah Dum was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Annie Williams, Katie Boardman and Dana Koontz also had hits.

Moore added 2-RBI while Julia Williams also knocked a run in.

Annie Williams earned the win, striking out four while allowing two walks.
