Sarah Ingerick was a first-team shortstop, while teammate Jenny Young was a first-team outfielder.

Ingerick became a rare four-time all-state player.

"It's pretty special, it's something I have been working for and striving for. It's really special to end my softball career with four straight all-state honors," Ingerick said.

When she started playing, this was never something on Ingerick's mind. However, after her freshman year, she started to think about making it four times.

"When I started playing, I didn't even know there was an all-state team until I got named," she said. "After that, I started working toward it. It was definitely something I was hoping to go into college with. It's definitely a good thing to have."

While Ingerick has made all-state every year, this was her first time getting first team.

"It's like the top of the list and the team," she said. "Definitely getting that means a little bit more than second team and honorable mention from previous years. It's definitely a confidence booster. It means now that everyone sees it, not just the people who see me play all the time.

"There's definitely a lot of good athletes throughout the area and throughout the state that deserve spots, too, so it's special."

For Williams, it's special earning first-team all-state honors for the second straight year.

"I feel really good about it," she said. "I'm really excited and just thankful I got it. I am really happy about it. I didn't really expect it this year, so it's really just an honor."

Four different Northeast Bradford players made all state: Gabby Slater (HM at pitcher); Katie Boardman (2nd team at first base); and Danielle Moore (HM at shortstop).

"It's really awesome to know that my team is finally rewarded, we are just proud of it," Williams said. "I am really happy for Danielle, it's her senior year, as well as Katie who had a fantastic year all the way around.

"Gabby did a fantastic job, I'm happy to have somebody like her to share the mound with, it's easy when you have somebody like her on the mound."

With three of the four all-state picks returning next year, Williams knows this can only help the team next season.

"Especially that the other girls got it, too, we have a lot of returning girls, to see our team get more than one honor gives us more confidence," Williams said.

The honor was a perfect way for Williams to cap her junior year.

"It definitely makes me happy to be able to reflect on the season like this," Williams said.

While the Panthers had four all-state picks, Wellsboro led the NTL with six picks.

Along with Ingerick and Young, the Green Hornets had Alyssa Yungwirth (2nd team pitcher); Sydney Tremper (HM catcher); Darci Warriner (2nd team OF) and Alexa Singer (HM outfielder) earn all-state honors.

"It's really special," Ingerick said. "The four seniors (Ingerick, Young, Warriner and Singer), we all deserve it and the two younger girls, it's a good booster for them."

What made things more special for Ingerick is that Young also got first-team honors.

"Jenny and I have been playing for like 10 years now. It's a lot of fun to be named to the same team in your last year of playing together," Ingerick said.

Three freshmen earned all-state honors, led by Athens' Emma Adams earning second-team DH/utility honors in AAA.

The other freshmen on the All-state team were both from North-Penn Liberty as Savanah Doney (pitcher) and Brooke Harvey (shortstop) earned honorable mention honors.

"I'm very excited for this accomplishment," Adams said. "I think making all-state will put my name out there for the opportunity to play in college."

Sayre's Kate Cron, Canton's Brooke Ward and Williamson's Kendra Colegrove in Class A; Wyalusing's Erin Canfield in Class AA; and Athens' Aubrey Allen in AAA all earned second-team honors.

For Adams, making all-state along with Allen was special.

"I'm so happy I can share this with Aubrey," Adams said. "She has been a great mentor to me since I first played with her in 10u all-stars."

For Adams, starting her career with an all-state honor will only help her as she goes into the future.

"My confidence level was boosted much higher with making all-state," Adams said. "I'm excited to see what the future holds for me."

A District 4 player, Loyalsock's Kendall Watkins, was named the Class AA state Player of the Year. Watkins hit .566 and is signed with Division I Niagara.
