Athens squeezes past Waverly.

WAVERLY, N.Y. -- Athens scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning on a squeeze play to edge Waverly 5-4.

With Emma Adams on third and Aubrey Allen on first, Hayleigh Macik laid down a bunt for Athens. Adams scored on the play and a throw to second went into the outfield, allowing Allen to come around and score the winning run.

Adams struck out eight on the mound for Athens in the win and Wendi Hammond struck out five for Waverly.

Hannah Reid had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Athens and Allen had two hits, with a double, and two runs scored.

Adams had two hits and scored a run and Kaitlyn Testen had two hits and an RBI.

Macik had a hit and an RBI and Kendra Brown had a hit and scored a run, while Lexi Morley had an RBI.

Waverly got three hits, with a double, from Kalie Herriman and Hammond, Shailei Kraft and Kendra Ellers had hits.

Lyndsey Moore and Anna Smith scored runs and Herriman had two runs scored, while Kraft had an RBI.

TUNKHANNOCK TOURNAMENT

Wyalusing 3, Mt. View 0

The Rams picked up a victory on Saturday as Kyleigh Ward threw a four-hitter, striking out four.

Ward had a triple, a run scored and an RBI at the plate and Erin Canfield and Ashley Carter had hits, with Canfield scoring a run.

Tunkhannock 3, Wyalusing 0

The Rams were shutout in the final Saturday. Ward threw a seven-hitter, striking out four in the loss.

Kristie Epler, Canfield and Trinity Kipp had hits for the Rams.

Wyalusing hosts Troy on Monday.

UNION-ENDICOTT TOURNAMENT

Union-Endicott 3, Tioga 1

Sam Wood struck out 10 in the loss.

Wood had two hits and an RBI and Katelyn Stubbs had a hit and scored a run, while Sarah Hollenbeck had a hit for Tioga.

Norwich 10, Tioga 9

The Tigers trailed 10-1 after five, before scoring eight runs in the final two innings to mount a comeback that came up a run short.

Stubbs had a hit and scored two runs, with an RBI and Vergason had a hit and scored a run.

Wood was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Mariah Culver had a hit.

Hollenbeck had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Sara Strong had two hits and two RBI.

Madelyn Dydynski had a hit and Marissa Howe had two hits and two RBI and Taylor Ayres had an RBI.

Liberty 2, Neumann 1

Liberty improved to 7-4 on the year as Savanah Doney struck out four in the win.

Emily Strange had two hits and Doney, Abby Heatley and Brooke Harvey had hits for Liberty.

Strange had the go-ahead RBI in the sixth inning, driving in Doney. It was the third straight game Strange had a go-ahead RBI. Britta Berguson also had an RBI.

Liberty is at Towanda on Monday.

MUDVILLE TOURNAMENT

Notre Dame 4, Marcellus 2

In the consolation game on Saturday the Wildcats picked up the victory.

Alivia Clark had a home run, a double, a run scored and three RBI and Mackenzie Mahajan had two hits and scored a run. Courteney Crater had two hits and scored a run and Mackenzie Maloney, Morgan Cox and Maura Glovins had hits, with Glovins scoring a run.

Izzy Milazzo struck out six and allowed seven hits in the win.

Pine Plains 10, Notre Dame 2

Clark had two hits and Maloney had a double and scored a run in the loss.

Milazzo had a hit and an RBI and Crater had a hit and scored a run. Cox had a hit and an RBI and Glovins had a hit.

Clark struck out two on the mound.

Canton 4, Montgomery 2

Evelyn Katona threw a four-hitter, striking out five in the win.

Brooke Ward had two hits and a run scored and Lauryn Watkins had a hit,a n RBI and a run scored.

Lacey Castle had a hit and scored a run and Kelsey Griffin had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Alexa Roy had a hit and two RBI and Vanessa Wesneski had a hit.

Canton 9, Neumann 2

The Warriors got two doubles from Maggy Machmer, with two RBI and a run scored and Ward had three hits, with two runs scored and an RBI.

Castle scored a run and Griffin had two hits, two RBI and a run scored.

Katona had a hit and scored a run and Caitlin Pepper scored a run. Wesneski had a hit, two RBI and a run scored and Sidney Wheeler scored a run.

Griffin pitched four innings, striking out one and allowing four hits and Machmer struck out one in three innings, allowing one hit.
