Wellsboro ends NEB's undefeated season; Athens edges Wyalusing in 8th.

A furious seventh-inning comeback by Wellsboro gave them a 4-3 NTL win and ended Northeast Bradford's undefeated season.
The Hornets jumped out 1-0 in the bottom of the third as they held the Panthers scoreless through the first six innings.
But like all season, NEB didn't go away, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh to pull ahead.
However, the District IV, Class AA defending champions showed their championship mettle in the bottom half of the inning.
Sarah Ingerick led off with a single, followed by Alexa Singer reaching on an error, two batters later. Alyssa Yungwirth then reached to load the bases with one out.
A Brianne Keane infield single scored Ingerick, then Kailee Clymer hit a double to score Singer and Yungwirth for the win.
Yungwirth went 3-for-4 to lead the Hornets while Ingerick and Sydney Tremper were 2-for-4.
Darci Warriner and Clymer both had doubles while Keane and Jenny Young also had hits. Warriner, Keane and Clymer knocked in runs as well.
Yungwirth got the win, striking out eight while allowing two walks.
Megan Brown and McKenna Wheaton both went 2-for-3 to lead the Panthers with Taya Howell, Jaycee Brown, Katie Boardman and Hannah Dum also registering a hit.
Brown and Howell both knocked a run in.
Gabby Slater scored the loss, striking out four with four walks.
Wellsboro hosts South Williamsport Thursday and then finishes a suspended game with Coudersport on Friday.
Athens 6, Wyalusing 5, 8th inning
In a back-and-forth contest the Wildcats pulled out the NTL win Tuesday.
They led 3-1 going into the seventh inning when Wyalusing took a 4-3 lead. In the bottom half of the inning Athens rallied to tie it up at 4-4.
The Rams retook the lead in the top of the eighth as Kyleigh Ward scored on an Autumn Dietz single.
But, in the bottom half of the inning, Athens struck back with a two out rally. Kaitlyn Testen singled followed by Emma Adams getting a hit that scored Testen to knot the game up at 5-all.
After Aubrey Allen walked, Hayleigh Macik hit Adams in for the win.
Adams was 4-for-5 with three runs and an RBI, while Allen (2-for-4) and Macik (2-for-4) also had multiple hits in the game. Both Wildcats knocked in a run.
Hannah Reid, Testen, Lexi Morley and Reagan Lynch also had hits.
Reid, Testen and Leah Reid all scored while Angie Hudock had an RBI.
Allen got the win in the circle, striking out nine while allowing eight hits, three walks and five runs, two of them earned.
Kristie Epler (2-for-5) and Miranda Herbert (2-for-4) had multiple hits for the Rams with Herbert getting a double. Epler had 3-RBIs while Herbert scored twice.
Melody Kneller, Kate Epler, Ward and Dietz also had hits.
Ward scored twice with Sarah Bird also crossing home. Kneller and Dietz each had an RBI.
Ward earns the loss, going 7 2/3-innings with five strikeouts, 12 hits, four walks and six runs, five of them earned.
Muncy 17, Sullivan County 0, 5 innings
MacKenzie Doyle had a hit in the Griffin's loss to Muncy in PHAC softball action Tuesday.
Chandra Thomas started and went 4 2/3-innings with one strikeout,18 hits, six walks and 17 earned runs.
Quincy Fry pitched the last 1/3-inning of an inning.
