Wellsboro pounded out 12 hits as they beat Coudersport 13-3 in non-league softball action Saturday.
Alyssa Yungwirth led the Hornets, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Kailee Clymer (2-for-3), Tiana Lecker (2-for-4) and Ryann Adams (2-for-5) also had multiple hits on the day.
Clymer and Lecker each added 3-RBI and a run scored while Adams scored twice while driving in a run.
Cathryn Brought, Brianne Keane and Hailey Neal also had hits.
Kean crossed home three times, Sydney Tremper scored twice and Brought and Neal each scored once. Brought and Keane each knocked two runs in.
Yungwirth scored the win striking out eight.
The Griffins fell in another close one in Mid-Penn softball action Saturday.
Sullivan led 5-2 going into the sixth inning when CMVT scored five runs in the top of the sixth to take a 7-5 lead.
The Griffins responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to knot things up at 7-all.
CMVT then tacked on five more runs in the top of the seventh, which proved enough for the win.
Kassandra Houseknecht was 3-for-4 with two runs to lead Sullivan while Bethany Weinhardt and Alexis Randall had two doubles each. They both scored once while Weinhardt had 2-RBI and Randall one.
Madison Burke added a double and run scored while Quincy Fry and Savannah Baldwin also had hits.
Emma Shadduck and Jessica King both scored while Fry knocked in a run.
Burke threw 152 pitches in the loss, striking out 10 while allowing 11 walks, nine hits and 12 earned runs.
Sarah Hollenbeck was 2-for-3 as the Tigers fell in the tournament opener Saturday.
Mariah Culver suffered the loss, striking out five while allowing seven walks, 18 hits and 21 runs, 11 of them earned, on 150 pitches.
Tunkhannock's Kendra Schultz struck out 13 in the win. She was also 3-for-4 with a run scored and 2-RBI. Hope Jones, Jenna Simmons and Dani Krispin had three hits each for Tunkhannock.
Marissa Howe had the Tigers' lone hit in the loss.
Madalyn Dydynski scored the loss, striking out three times while allowing two walks, 15 hits and eight runs, five of them earned, on 117 pitches.
