The Cowanesque Valley softball team advanced to the District 4, Class A semifinals with a 5-0 win over Galeton.
Ashleigh Southard threw a five-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts in the win.
The Indians will take on Sullivan County in the semifinals on Friday.
Emma Williams had a hit and scored a run and Southard had two hits.
Julia Draper had two hits, with a double and two RBI and Madi Lee had a hit.
Karmen Short scored a run and Emma McClaren had two doubles and scored two runs, while Amaya Walker and Jenna Romaneo each had hits, with Romaneo scoring a run.
Wendi Hammond threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Wolverines advanced in the Section 4, Class B playoffs.
Riley Hall had two hits, with a double, and an RBI and Paige Miller had two hits.
Jordan Mente and Hali Jenner each added hits in the game and Mente had an RBI, while Jenner and Zoe Mennig scored runs in the game.
Hailey Neal hit a three-run home run to help the Hornets on their way to a win over Central Columbia in the first round of District IV, Class AAA playoffs.
Neal went on to knock in four runs altogether, add a single to her home run and scored once for Wellsboro in the win. Heidi Zuchowski notched a double and single, an RBI and a run scored on the afternoon. Kailee Clymer also had a double and a single while scoring twice for the Hornets. Jena Boyce and Kerrah Clymer each had base hits in the win, while Boyce also added a run scored.
Cathryn Brought took the mound for Wellsboro and struck out four in the game.
Wellsboro will take on Loyalsock on Thursday.
The Indians scored three runs in the second and three more in the fourth inning of the win.
Owen Fitzwater scored a run and Matt Barber had two hits and scored two runs.
Kurtis Easton scored a run and Isaac Huntingdon had a hit and scored a run, while Dustin VanZile had a hit and scored a run and Ben Cooper had a hit.
Montgomery secured a win after going up 2-0 in the fourth inning against Canton in District IV, Class A baseball playoffs.
Cameron Bellows notched two base hits in the loss, while Michael Smithers and Carter Route also nabbed a hit each. Brendon Landis was able to score Canton’s only run and he also had one hit.
Taylor Acla threw for two innings and made way to let Smithers throw for the remaining four. Smithers registered two strikeouts in the loss.
Lansing had a seven-run third inning to break open a 1-1 game on their way to the win.
Ryess Youmans and Matt Smith each had two hits for Notre Dame and Smith scored a run, while Erik Charnetski had an RBI.
Hunter Homerda and Owen Stewart combined to strike out two in the game for the Crusaders.
