Towanda powers past NEB.

ROME — Four different players had multi-hit games for Towanda as they defeated NEB 12-0 in NTL softball action Thursday.
Justine Vargason (2-for-4), Gabby Slater (2-for-4), Vanessa Vanderpool (2-for-3) and Hannah Chandler (2-for-3) all had good games at the plate.
Vargason had three runs and an RBI, Slater knocked in two runs and scored one, Vanderpool had a double with a run scored and Chandler had a double with a run scored and an RBI.
Slater was also strong in the circle, striking out eight while allowing five hits and two walks.
Cearra McLinko, Rachael Bair, Shay Chandler and Maddie Pelton also had hits.
Madi Doss scored twice with Gabby Larcom, McLinko, Bair and Shay Chandler also crossing home.
Pelton knocked in two runs with Doss, McLinko and Bair each getting an RBI as well.
Lindsay Moore (2-for-3) and Taya Howell (2-for-2) had multi-hit games for the Panthers. Jaycee Brown also had a hit.
Morgan Post started and went 1 1/3-innings with two walks, three hits and seven earned runs.
Moore finished out, allowing one walk, nine hits and five runs, two of them earned.
Wyalusing 4, Cowanesque Valley 3
A sixth inning home run by Melody Kneller broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Rams an NTL softball win.
The victory helps Wyalusing keep pace with North Penn-Liberty in the race for the league title. Both teams have one loss.
The Indians led 1-0 after the first inning while Wyalusing took a 3-1 lead with two runs in the second and one in the third.
The Indians scored two runs in the sixth to knot things up before Kneller's heroics.
Emily Champluvier was 2-for-3 while Sarah Bird had a double with a run scored.
Kristie Epler, Autumn Dietz, Daphne Fassett and Shelby Kipp also had hits.
Epler knocked in a run while Dietz and Kipp both scored.
Hailey Jayne got the win for the Rams, striking out eight while allowing no walks and six hits.
Madison Lee had the big bat for CV, going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run.
Ashleigh Southard was 2-for-3 with two runs while Julia Draper and Riley Ortt each had doubles.
Southard took the loss, striking out one and allowing one walk and eight hits.
Rams coach John Loomis was pleased to see his young team gut out a win, especially Jayne in the circle.
"I thought our freshman showed a lot of poise and she's learning a few new pitches," Loomis said. "She just continues to get better and better. She really toughed out a good game with Cowanesque Valley."
He also pointed to his senior leadership as well.
"Kneller is one of our leaders and came up with a big hit for us in the bottom of the sixth inning," remarked Loomis. "All of our kids really made contributions. Dietz, our catcher, is doing a great job, Bird is doing a great job. The kids are really coming together. We're just going one game at a time and hopefully we'll be a good playoff team. I like our chances, I think we're going to have a real shot at the league and the district playoffs."
Wyalusing hosts Williamson Saturday.
North Penn-Liberty 15, Canton 4
The top part of the Mountaineer order went 7-for-12 to lead NPL to the crossover softball win Thursday.
Sara Swingle was 3-for-4 with three runs while Abby Heatley went 2-for-4 with a triple, double, two runs and an RBI and Brooke Harvey was 2-for-4 with three runs.
Delaney Colton had a double with a run scored while Savanah Doney went 1-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored. Emma Williams was 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI, Jessica Kouba had a double with two runs and Brooklyn Deitrick had a hit with 2-RBI.
Mariah Kshir also had a hit.
Doney got the win, striking out 12 while allowing five hits, no walks and four runs, two of them earned.
Carmya Martell (2-for-3) and Hannah Gilliland (2-for-3) had multi-hit games for the Warriors. Martell scored three runs with Gilliland getting one.
Vanessa Wesneski had a hit with an RBI and Zoey Morse knocked in a run.
Jillian Shay took the loss, striking out eight while allowing three walks, 13 hits and 15 runs, nine of them earned.
Tioga 7, SVE 1
A five-run sixth inning proved to be the difference as the Tigers continued their strong play Thursday.
They had four extra base hits on the day while Mariah Culver and Madalyn Dydynski split time in the circle.
Culver got the win, going four innings to strike out eight while allowing one hit.
Dydynski went the final three innings, striking out five while allowing one walk, three hits and one unearned run.
Marissa Howe (2-for-4), Giovanni Rossi (2-for-3) and Kylie Zimmerman (2-for-3) all had multi-hit games.
Rossi had a triple with 2-RBI while Kylie Zimmerman and Howe both scored.
Culver had a triple with a run scored and an RBI, Michaela Webb had a triple with 3-RBI and Kelsey Vosburgh had a double with a run scored.
Dydynski and Sara Strong each had a hit with a run while Hayley Zimmerman scored.
Athens 7, Williamson 0
Meg Bennett threw a five-hitter as the Wildcats picked up the NTL softball win Thursday.
Bennett struck out 16 in the contest with no walks.
Emma Adams and Harley Sullivan led Athens at the plate. They both had two hits, including a triple, with a run scored.
Emma Repsher had a double with a run scored while Haley Barry and Haleigh Macik each had a hit and a run.
Bennett had a hit with Megan Collins scoring a run.
Emylee Yusko went 2-for-3 with a double to lead Williamson while Sarah Learn and Morgan Stone also had hits.
Yusko allowed eight hits in the loss while striking out eight.
Montgomery 14, Sullivan County 10
In a back and forth contest, a six-run fifth inning gave the Red Raiders the Mid-Penn League win Thursday.
Sullivan led 5-0 after three with four runs in the first and one in the third.
Montgomery then scored all 14 runs in the final four innings, including four in the seventh.
Sullivan tried to keep pace with five runs over the final three innings but came up short.
Quincy Fry was 3-for-4 with two runs to lead the Griffins while Mykenzie Malacusky (2-for-3) and Alexis Randall (2-for-4) had multi-hit games.
Malacusky had a double with two runs and 1-RBI and Randall scored and knocked in a run.
Jaeden Patson had a triple with two runs and an RBI, Kassandra Houseknecht had a double with two runs and 2-RBI while Madison Burke and Samantha Albright had one hit each.
Albright scored and knocked in a run while Burke had an RBI.
Burke got the start and went six innings for the loss. She struck out two while allowing 14 hits, one walk and 12 runs, eight of them earned.
Malacusky went the final inning, allowing two walks and two runs, one of them earned.
