WYSOX - Down 6-1 Athens would rally past Towanda for a 9-6 NTL softball win Monday.
The Black Knights scored all six of their runs in the second inning to go up 6-1.
From there the Wildcats chipped away, scoring one in the fourth and fifth to cut it to 6-3.
They tied it up in the sixth then scored three more in the seventh for the win.
Jensen Dunkling went 2-for-3 with three runs to lead Athens while Makenzie Hafer was 2-for-4 with two runs.
Aubrey Allen had a double with a run scored while Hannah Reid, Mackenzie Warner, Kaitlyn Testen and Haley Priester also had hits.
Reagan Lynch, Warner and Testen also scored for Athens.
Allen earned the win, striking out two while allowing three walks.
For Towanda Koryn Wickwire was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Emily Gorman was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Sara Schoonover had a double with a run scored and an RBI while Alaina Wickwire also had a hit.
Laci Manning, Makenzie Roof and Tara Welliver scored runs.
Alaina Wickwire earned the loss, striking out five while walking none.
The Rams pounded out 11 hits in their NTL softball win Monday.
Katie Epler led the way, going 3-for-4 with a triple and run scored while Kasey DeVoir was 2-for-3 with a triple, double, run scored and RBI.
Ciera Holland was also 2-for-3 with a home run, run scored and 2-RBI.
Ally DeVoir was 1-for-4 but her lone hit started Wyalusing's big fifth inning. She had 2-RBI with a run scored.
Paighton Martin added a triple with a run scored while Emily Faulkner and Kylie Ward also had hits. Erin Canfield added a run.
Faulkner went the distance for the win, striking out six while allowing one walk.
For Wellsboro Jordan Butters had two hits and a run scored to lead the way. Alexa Singer added a double while Peyton Wilson, Baylea Lehman and Jenny Young also had hits.
Singer started and earned the loss, striking out three while allowing one walk, nine hits and five runs. Brooke Kohler came on in relief, striking out three with two hits and two runs.
Wyalusing hosts Athens today for a make-up.
The Wolverines pounded out 16 hits en route to their IAC softball win Monday.
Sam Mennig was 4-for-5 with a double, 3-RBI and a run scored to lead Waverly while Stephanie Bellis (3-for-5) and Becca Morgan (3-for-4) also had strong days at the plate. Bellis' included a double with a run scored and an RBI.
Zoe Mennig was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored and an RBI, Morgan Salsman was 2-for-4 with two runs while Reylyn Schwartzhoff had a triple with 2-RBI and a run scored. Karleigh VanNess also had a hit.
Kiana Manuel scored twice while VanNess scored once and drove a run in.
Sam Mennig earned the perfect game win, striking out 14.
Julie Brubaker was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI to lead the Indians to the win.
Becky Plummer was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored while Courtney Schauer was 2-for-4 with 2-RBI and a run scored. Debra Bieser was 2-for-3 with 2-RBI and a run scored.
Jessi Prutsman, Taylor Hager, Lexi Huyler and Whitney Earl also had hits.
Lexi Huyler and Maddie Huyler both scored twice while Schauer, Prutsman, Hager and Bieser also found home. Hager and Bieser each had 2-RBI while Prutsman, Lexi Huyler and Earl also knocked in runs.
Shanelle Ianson earned the win, striking four while allowing four hits and two unearned runs.
Rory Ressler led Sayre with a double while Kassandra Winters and Brook Wampole also had hits. Winters scored while Wampole had an RBI.
Winters scored the loss, striking out two while allowing 13 hits and 13 runs, only two of which were earned.
The Warriors picked up a Small School NTL softball win.
Kellsy Ross went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and 2-RBI to lead Canton while Makenzy Route was 2-for-4 with a run and 4-RBI. Maggy Machmer went 2-for-4 with three runs while Lacey Castle had a double with two runs.
Kayla Ward had a hit with 2-RBI while Kelsey Griffin had a hit with two runs scored.
For Williamson Sam Herrington was 3-for-4 while Sarah Bates was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and an RBI. Megan Wyble was 2-for-4 with a run while Calli Cody and Hannah Fitzmartin also had hits. Cody scored and knocked in a run while Fitzmartin crossed home as well.
Earlier in the day Canton defeated Bucktail 6-0.
Ross was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while Ward had a hit with three runs.
Machmer was 2-for-3 with 2-RBI with Joslyn Spencer and Kayla Shay both getting hits. Spencer added 2-RBI.
Ward got the win, striking out two while allowing two hits and one walk in the shutout.
Taylor Johnston had three hits to lead the Trojans to an NTL Large School win Monday.
Kelsey Bristol and Taylor Murray each added two hits with three runs while Sam Gentile also had two hits.
Kayla Stephani had a triple with a run scored while Jessica Fritsch, Brooke Losey-Root, Kerrigan Hoffmann, Elena Breese and Jerilyn Ross also had hits.
Faith Ceely scored twice while Fritsch, Kylie Taylor and Losey-Root also scored.
Ross earned the win, striking out four while allowing five hits and two walks.
For Liberty Lauren Smith, Rachael Strange, Mariah Berguson, Noelle Payne and Kasey Powlison had the hits.
Berguson started and earned the loss while Kristina Buchanan also saw action.
Troy hosts Wyalusing Wednesday.
