NEB captures their tourney titleLERAYSVILLE — The Northeast Bradford Panthers captured their tournament title on Saturday, topping Susquehanna 13-1 and then beating Montrose 7-6 in the final.

Annie Williams was the tournament MVP after getting wins on the mound in both games and hitting the winning home run in the final.

Katie Boardman, Gabby Slater, Danielle Moore and Megan Brown were all named to the all-tournament team.

In the final, Williams homered in the top of the seventh to break a 6-6 tie and lift the Panthers to the win.

Williams had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored and she pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief, allowing three hits and striking out one, to get the win.

Moore had two hits and scored a run, while Brown and McKenna Wheaton had doubles. Brown had an RBI and scored a run, and Wheaton had two RBI.

Slater had a hit, an RBI and scored a run, and Boardman had a hit and an RBI.

Hannah Dum had a hit, and scored two runs, and Taya Howell had an RBI.

Slater struck out one in 3 1/3 innings.

In the first game Williams struck out three, allowing four hits in the five-inning game.

Moore had a pair of doubles, two RBI and two runs scored and McKenzie Haight had a double and an RBI, while Williams had a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

Brown had a hit and scored two runs and Slater had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Boardman had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, and Dum scored a run.

Jaycee Brown had two hits, an RBI and scored two runs. and Dana Koontz had a hit and scored two runs.

Montrose 1, Wellsboro 0

The green Hornets fell to Montrose in the opener of the NEB Tournament on Saturday.

Montrose's Maddy Guinane threw the five-hit shutout, striking out 10 in the game.

Jenny Young, Sydney Tremper, Darci Warriner, Alyssa Yungwirth and Emma Poirier had hits for Wellsboro in the game.

Yungwirth had a four-hitter with five strikeouts for the Green Hornets in the loss.

Guinane scored the winning run for Montrose.

Wellsboro 9, Susquehanna 1

Alexa Singer had a two-hit day at the plate, and threw a two-hitter in the win.

Singer had a double and two RBI at the plate, along with a single, and she struck out seven on the mound.

Bridget Kennedy had her first varsity hit for the Green Hornets in the game.

Young, Yungwirth and Sarah Ingerick had hits. Ingerick had two RBI, and Yungwirth had one RBI.

Wellsboro is at Wyalusing on Monday.

In the 8-4 win, Makayla Butz had two hits, a run scored and an RBI and Kendra Colegrove had two hits, with a double, a run scored and two RBI.

Andrea Regalbuto had two hits and scored two runs and Sam Herrington had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.

Emily Hackett had a hit and an RBI, and Emma Durst had a hit and an RBI.

Kailee Schaefer had a double and a run scored, with an RBI and Hanna Fitzmartin had a pair of hits, with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Sarah Bates had a hit and scored a run in the other game and Butz had three hits, three runs scored and two RBI.

Colegrove had three hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, and Regalbuto had two hits, a double, two runs and two RBI.

Herrington had a triple, two runs and an RBI, and Hackett had a hit, three RBI and scored two runs.

Durst had two hits, two RBI and scored two runs, and Schaefer had a hit.

Fitzmartin had two hits — including her third home run of the year — and scored two runs.

In the Redskins win, Dominique Woodruff had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, and Kaitlynn McCarter had two hits.

Sydney Post scored two runs, and Kate Cron had two hits, with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.

Paige Wampole had two hits, two RBI and scored a run, and Alia Post had three hits and two RBI, with a double.

Blair Wampole had two hits and scored a run.

McCarter struck out four on the mound.

Kayla Schauer had three hits, and scored two runs for CV, and Maddy Huyler had a hit and scored a run.

Madi Lee had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored, and Amaya Walker had a double and scored a run. Maddie Hatch struck out seven on the mound.

In the other game, Schauer had a hit and scored a run, and Huyler had a hit and scored a run.

Lee had two RBI and scored a run, and Walker had a hit and an RBI.

Karmen Short had a hit and Breanna Whitesell scored a run.

Julia Draper had two hits and scored a run and Jenna Romaneo had a hit, tow RBI and a run scored.

McCarter had two hits and scored a run for Sayre and Post had two hits and scored a run.

Cron had a hit and scored a run and Paige Wampole had three hits, with a double, and three RBI.

Woodruff, Reaghan Zurn and Camryn Brown each had hits.

The Tigers rolled to the win Saturday.

Sam Wood had a one-hitter with seven strikeouts.

Katelyn Stubbs had four hits and scored five runs, and Brittany Vergason had three hits and scored five runs.

Wood had four hits, with two doubles, and five runs scored and Mariah Culver had four hits, with a home run, a double and four runs scored.

Sarah Hollenbeck had two hits and scored two runs, Megan Godfrey had two hits and scored three runs, and Olivia Klett and Steph Armstrong had hits. Klett also scored two runs.

Taylor Ayres had four hits and scored five runs, and Morgan Babcock had three hits and four runs scored.

Babcock had three RBI; Ayres and Armstrong had RBI; Godfrey, Hollenbeck and Stubbs had two RBI each; Wood had four RBI; and Vergason and Culver each had five RBI.

Schauer had two hits and two RBI for CV, and Huyler had an RBI. Walker had two doubles and two RBI; and Short, Brynn Williams, Draper and Romaneo had hits, with Draper and Romaneo driving in runs.
