Waverly uses late rally to top Tioga.

Waverly struck late and held on even later to pull out an 8-7 win over Tioga in IAC softball action Monday.

Tioga led 4-3 after the sixth inning, but in the top of the seventh the Wolverines scored five runs to take an 8-4 lead.

The Tigers came back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring three runs of their own, but ultimately came up short.

Zoe Mennig was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored for the Wolverines, while Kendra Ellers was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored.

Shailei Kraft was 2-for-4 with two runs, while Kalie Herriman, Wendi Hammond and Madison Klossner also had hits.

Herriman, Hammond and Taylor Nicholas each crossed home.

Hammond got the win, striking out five while allowing three walks, nine hits and seven runs.

Taylor Ayres was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Tioga while Katelyn Stubbs was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Sarah Hollenbeck was also 2-for-4.

Britt Vergason, Sam Wood and Mariah Culver also had hits.

Culver added an RBI with a run scored, while Vergason had 2-RBI and Wood scored. Megan Godfrey also crossed home.

Wood started and scores the loss, going 6 1/3-innings to strike out five while allowing no walks, nine hits, six runs, four of them earned.

Culer went the final 2/3-innings with one hit, four walks, one strikeout and two earned runs.

Canton 3, Troy 2

The Warriors jumped out early and held on late as they picked up an NTL softball win.

Canton scored two in the first and another in the top of the second to go up 3-0.

Troy added a run in the bottom of the second, then scored another in the fifth to cut it to 3-2.

They would get a runner on second in the seventh, but couldn't bring her home.

Lacey Castle was 2-for-3, while Evelyn Katona was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Brooke Ward, Lauryn Watkins, Sidney Wheeler and Alexa Roy also had hits.

Watkins and Joslyn Spencer both scored.

In the circle, Katona started and went the first three innings, allowing two hits, one walk and one earned run to get the win.

Kelsey Griffin went the final four innings with two hits, one walk and one unearned run.

In the circle, Katona started and earned the win, while Griffin pitched in relief. They combined for no strikeouts and one walk.

Erika Johnston was 2-for-3 to lead Troy, while Vanessa Watson was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Elena Breese also had a double with an RBI, while Roxanne Kingsley recorded a hit, and Nicole Spalding scored a run.

Watson scored the loss, striking out three while allowing no walks.

Northeast Bradford 9, Athens 4, 9 innings

The Panthers scored five runs in the top of the ninth to pull out the NTL win and stay unbeaten on the season.

NEB led 1-0 after the first inning, but Athens took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second.

The Panthers clawed their way back, scoring a run in the fourth and then going up 4-3 with two runs in the fifth.

Athens tied it back up with a run in the bottom of the sixth that sent them into extra innings.

McKenna Wheaton was 2-for-3 with a double,and an RBI for NEB, while Katie Boardman was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Gabby Slater was 2-for-5 with a run scored.

Megan Brown, Annie Williams and Hannah Dum all had hits.

Hailey Fisher scored three times for the Panthers, while Brown, Williams, Danielle Moore and Dum also crossed home.

Dum and Jaycee Brown each had an RBI.

Slater went all nine innings to get the win, striking out four and allowing 11 hits, one walk and four runs.

Emma Adams (3-for-5) and Reagan Lynch (3-for-4) both had multiple hits for the Wildcats. Adams' included a double while Lynch scored a run.

Hannah Reid, Lexi Morley, Kaitlyn Testen, Hayleigh Macik and Morgan Ferguson also had hits.

Taylor Jenney, Macik and Ferguson all scored, while Reid and Macik both knocked in a run.

Aubrey Allen went all nine innings for Athens, striking out four while allowing nine hits, nine runs, four of them earned, with two walks.

Wyalusing 4, Williamson 3

The Rams scored early and held on late as they picked up the NTL softball win Monday.

Wyalusing jumped out 3-0 in the first and added another run in the second to go up 4-0.

The Warriors fought back, scoring a run in the fourth before adding two more in the fifth to cut the deficit to one, but couldn't get over the hump.

Kate Epler was 2-for-3 with a triple, run scored and an RBI, while Sarah Bird, Miranda Herbert, Kristie Epler and Trinity Kipp also had hits.

Bird and Erin Canfield scored, while Melody Kneller, Herbert and Kristie Epler each had an RBI.

Kyleigh Ward got the win, striking out three while allowing eight hits, three runs and four walks.

Andrea Regelbuto was 2-for-3 with two runs and a double for Williamson, while Kendra Colegrove and Sam Harrington both went 2-for-4. Colegrove scored a run while Harrington had 2-RBI.

Emily Hackett and Makayla Butz also had hits.

Emma Durst earned the loss, striking out two while allowing six hits, four runs and five walks.

Sullivan County 8, Millville 6

The Griffins used a four run, fifth inning to pick up the PHAC win.

Sullivan scored two runs in the first and second innings, but Millville tied it with four runs in the fourth.

They would go up 5-4 in the top of the fifth before Sullivan's big rally to take an 8-5 lead. Millville got another run in the sixth.

Bethany Weinhardt was 4-for-4 with a run scored and 3-RBI to lead Sullivan, while Torie Shultz was 3-for-4.

Kassandra Houseknecht was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, Savannah Baldwin was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, Alexis Randall was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Quincy Fry was 2-for-4 with a run scored as well.

Chandra Thomas and Emma Shadduck also had hits, with Thomas scoring a run.

Fry started and earned the win, going six innings to strike out four while allowing eight hits, eight walks and six earned runs.

Thomas went the final inning for the save, striking out one while allowing a hit.

Nicole Whitenight, Ariana Bish and Breanna Wenner had two hits each to lead Millville.

Bish had eight strikeouts in the loss while allowing 18 hits and eight earned runs.

Wellsboro 7, Cowanesque Valley 0

The Hornets stayed unbeaten with their NTL win Monday.

Wellsboro jumped out early, scoring three runs in the first inning before adding two more in the fifth and sixth.

Darci Warriner went 2-for-3 to lead the Hornets, while Jenny Young was 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Sarah Ingerick and Sydney Tremper both went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Alexa Singer was 1-for-2 with 2-RBI, while Emma Poirier and Brianne Keane also had hits.

Singer started and earns the win, going five innings with five strikeouts and one walk.

Alyssa Yungwirth went the final two innings with three strikeouts.

Amaya Walker, Brynn Williams, Maddy Huyler and Maddy Hatch each had hits for CV.

Hatch scored the loss, striking out one while allowing 10 hits and three walks.

North Penn-Liberty 7, Sayre 2

The Mountaineers got runs in bunches as they picked up the NTL win Monday.

They scored three runs in the first, with two in the fourth and third. Sayre's runs came in the third and sixth.

Brook Harvey was 3-for-4 with two runs to lead the Mountaineers, while Krissy Buchanan had two doubles, two runs and 2-RBIs. Savanah Doney was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Emily Strange, Lauren Smith and Jillian Berguson also had hits.

Buchannan got the win, striking out six while allowing four hits, two walks and two earned runs in 6 1/3-innings. Doney finished out.

Rory Tigue went 2-for-4 to lead Sayre, while Domi Woodruff and Camryn Brown also had hits.

Sydney Post and Brown scored their runs, while Woodruff had an RBI.

Kait McCarter scored the loss, striking out two while allowing 10 hits, six walks and eight runs, seven of them earned.

Notre Dame 15, Newark Valley 0, 6 innings

Alivia Clark had 12 strikeouts in the no-hitter for the Crusaders.

She was also 3-for-5 with a double, five runs and an RBI at the plate while Isabel Milazzo was 4-for-5 with a triple, 4-RBI and a run scored.

Mackenzie Mahajan was 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored, Mackenzie Maloney was 2-for-3 with two doubles, 5-RBI and three runs scored, Maura Glovins was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Jordyn Fargo had a double with a run scored and an RBI, Morgan Cox had a hit with 2-RBI, while Courteney Crater had a triple with an RBI.
