Waverly, Notre Dame, Tioga, Wellsboro open seasons with wins.

A 10-run sixth inning broke open a close game for Waverly in their 13-1 win over Dryden in IAC softball action Monday.
The Wolverines led 3-1 at that point.
Wendi Hammond (2-for-3), Riley Hall (2-for-3) and Jordan Mente (2-for-4) each had multiple hits in the game for Waverly. Hammond also had a double with two runs and 2-RBI, Hall had a double with 2-RBI and a run scored and Mente scored once and knocked in two runs.
Paige Miller, Kari VanAllen, Hali Jenner and Paige Lewis also had hits. Miller had 2-RBI and a run scored, Lewis scored and knocked in two runs while VanAllen and Jenner each scored and knocked in a run.
Alyssa Sindoni scored twice and knocked in a run while Sabrina Pierce, Zoe Mennig and Katie Goodwin all scored.
Hammond got the win in the circle, going all seven innings to strike out 17 while allowing two hits, two walks and one unearned run.
Notre Dame 16, Watkins Glen 0
Izzy Milazzo and Tiyah Moffe combined for a no-hit shutout as the Crusaders opened the IAC softball season with a win Monday.
Milazzo struck out nine and walked one in four innings of work while Moffe struck out one in her one inning in the circle.
Milazzo was also strong at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, 3-RBI and two runs scored while Courteney Crater had a home run with two runs and 2-RBI.
Moffe was 2-for-2 with 2-RBI and three runs scored and Taylor VanDine was 2-for-3 with a run scored and 2-RBI.
Ellie Mustico had a double with a run scored and an RBI while Chloe Stemerman, Jordyn Fargo, Peyton Maloney and Megan Niles also had hits.
Maloney crossed home three times, Niles scored twice while Stemerman and Hannah Mahon also scored.
Mahon knocked in a 3-run score while Maloney also had an RBI.
Tioga 12, Moravia 3
In their season opener the Tigers picked up an IAC softball win Monday.
Mariah Culver (3-for-3), Madalyn Dydynski (3-for-4) and Michaela Webb (3-for-4) combined for nine hits on the day. Culver had an RBI with a run scored, Dydynski had a double, a run scored and 3-RBI and Webb had a double with three runs and an RBI.
Kelsey Vosburg (2-for-4) and Abby Lyons (2-for-2) also had multiple hit games. Vosburg also scored a run.
Kurstan Martin (1-for-4) had a triple with 3-RBI and a run scored, Haylie Zimmerman (1-for-4) knocked a double with a run scored.
Kylie Zimmerman and Sara Strong each had a hit with a run scored and an RBI.
Culver started and went the first four innings for the win. She struck out eight while allowing seven walks, one hit and one earned run and one unearned run.
Dydynski finished out the final three innings, striking out eight while allowing one walk and two hits. She also had an unearned run.
Wellsboro 12, Canton 1, 5 innings
Sydney Tremper was 3-for-4 to lead the Hornets to a season opening NTL softball win Monday.
Tremper had a double, three runs and an RBI while Kailee Clymer had a home run, two runs and 3-RBI.
Hailey Neal, Ryann Adams, Heidi Zuchowski and Jena Boyce each had a hit as well. Kerrah Clymer and Zuchowski each scored twice while Cathryn Brought, Adams and Boyce also crossed home.
Brought and Zuchowski both knocked in two runs while Neal had an RBI as well.
Brought started and got the win, going four innings to strike out six while allowing one hit, two walks and no runs.
Kerrah Clymer pitched the final inning, striking out two while allowing one hit and one earned run.
Jill Shay had a home run for Canton in the top of the fifth to keep from being shut out. Cammy Gies also had a hit.
Shay took the loss, striking out four in the contest while allowing eight hits and four walks.
