The Wellsboro Varsity softball team secured their 3rd win of the 2013 season as they defeated Williamson 4-1 Monday night.
The Lady Hornets were up 2-0 after the 2nd inning and held a 2-1 lead after the 3rd, but scored two more runs in the 6th to pick up the win.
Sophomore Peyton WIlson went 2-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Hornets. Wilson also had an RBI and scored a run. Freshman Jenny Young, Junior Brooke Kohler, and Sophomore Jordan Butters also had hits, while Freshman Alexa Singer, Young, and Junior Maggie Smith socred the other 3 runs.
Smith earned her first victory of the season as she struck out 9 batters, allowed 4 hits, and 2 walks.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 3-1 (2-0 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 17 as they host Canton.
